Scam: Host kept my 1,000 AED deposit for over 21 days and is ignoring all my refund requests. Negative: Beware of this host (Ivy Luxury Holiday Homes LLC). This property operates a bait-and-switch scam with unlisted fees. When I arrived at the property and was waiting outside for the check-in instructions, the host suddenly demanded a 1,000 AED security deposit that was never shared with me before. Because I was stranded at the last minute with my luggage, I was forced to pay it just to get into the room I had already paid for. They refused to do a standard credit card hold and forced me to transfer the money via their internal system. The host promised in writing to refund the 1,000 AED within one week of my checkout on February 14. It has now been over 3 weeks. They are now ignoring my messages, keeping my money, and provided no explanation. I have filed formal consumer fraud complaints with the Dubai Tourist Police and the DET. Avoid this company at all costs unless you want your deposit stolen.
